Cardboard Boat Races

Schlesinger Communications, Inc. (operating radio stations 92.1 WSQV/106.9 WVSQ "The Valley's Best Rock", 96.9/AM 1230 Classic Hits WBPZ, 106.5/AM 970 Classic Hits WBLF, and 105.9 QWiK Rock "Lion Country's Rock Station") is proud to announce the return of the Cardboard Boat Races as part of Riverfest in Woodward Township (Clinton County) on Saturday, June 28th, 2025.

Registration at 10:00am I Judging at 11 :00am I Races at 12:00pm | Entry Fee: $10/participant

Prizes will be awarded for "Best Boat Design", "Best Theme for Boat & Costume", and "The Titanic Award (Best Sinker)" along with race winners for each age group.

Age Groups: Children (8-12 years old), Youth (13-17 years old), Adult (18-49 years old), Adults 50+, and Family/Group/Organization

Requirements include: 

• Must wear appropriate size life preserver
• Must wear a whistle
• Must wear river shoes (*No Flip Flips)
• Supply your own Oars and Paddles (No Motors)
• Boats built with only cardboard, duct tape, nontoxic glue and paint

Schlesinger Communications, Inc. is excited to announce the "Campout for Kids" event, happening June 26th-28th, as part of Woodward Township's Riverfest in Lock Haven, PA. Radio personality Mark "The Shark" Schlesinger will camp out in a camper provided by Bill's Happy Camper, broadcasting live throughout the event to raise funds for local children with medical needs. The community is encouraged to pledge money and make donations to support this great cause, with special events for kids in addition to the Riverfest festivities. This year’s Riverfest will feature the return of the Cardboard Boat Races, the Duck Derby, live entertainment, fireworks, food, and plenty of fun for all ages.
